Michael Printz Award

The Michael L. Printz Award is the Young Adult Library Services Association version of the Newbery. It recognizes literary excellence in young adult literature. The winner can be fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or an anthology. The winner (and up to four honor books) are books written for young adults between the ages of 12 and 18. The award is named after a high school librarian who was an active member of the Young Adult Library Services Association.
