Mind Boggling Book Award
In the crowded field of book awards, having a nifty name for your prize isn't enough to guarantee longevity.
One of the more short-lived of children's book awards was the Mind Boggling Book Award. These prizes were given out from 1993 to 1997. The judges were children ages 9 to 12 who picked the best of a shortlist of six books. The prize was intended to promote books that were "accessible to children in content and price, as well as offering a gripping read."
The prize was administered by WH Smith Book Department.
