Encore Awards

Given each year by the Society of Authors, the Encore Award recognizes the second best. It is given to the best sophomore effort by a British author.

The winner must be the second novel of an author, be in English, be published for adults in the United Kingdom and the author must be a British or Commonwealth citizen.

The prize comes with 10,000 pounds-divided amongst the winners in years where there is more than one.

The award is selected by a group of three judges.
