The Children's Laureate Honour
In Great Britain reigns a Children's Laureate-an author who helps create the readers of tomorrow. These Laureates hold the post for two years and are selected by a distinguished committee drawn from librarians, critics, writers, and booksellers. Children are also given an opportunity to vote in bookshops and online.
An award of 10,000 pounds and the title is given to a writer and illustrator of children's books every two years. It celebrates their outstanding achievement in the field of children's literature.
The award was established in 1998.
