Atzlan Prize
In 1993, author Rudolfo Anaya and his wife Patricia founded the Premio Atzlan awards to encourage and honor Chicana and Chicano authors. This award continued until 2000, when it took a four year hiatus. It was then revived by the University of New Mexico Libraries, with a committee reforming in 2005 to consider a 2004 award.
