Michael Silver
Michael Silver is a writer who understands why the American public loves to read about sports. It's all about the people and our connection to them.
Born is Los Angeles, Silver graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1988. It was there that he began his journalism career as the sports editor of The Daily Californian. In less than a decade, he would join the staff of Sports Illustrated, making stops at the Santa Rosa Press, the Sacramento Union, Pro Football Weekly, and The Sporting News along the way.
Within two years of joining Sports Illustrated, Silver published his first book, writing with National Football League star receiver Jerry Rice. That was the beginning of several collaborations with athletes. His writing has received awards from such organizations as the Pro Football Writers of America, the Associated Press Sports Editors, and the Pro Basketball Writers of America.
