Robert San Souci

Robert San Souci is an award-winning children's author who has found inspiration for his stories by traveling all around the United States. His books aren't limited to the United States, though, and many of his 80 books take readers all around the world, celebrating folklore and storytelling.

In addition to children's books, San Souci also wrote the film story of Disney's Mulan (as well as his own retelling of the historical tale, Fa Mulan). His books have won numerous awards including New York Times Best Illustrated Children's Books of the Year, Caldecott, Coretta Scott King Honors, ALA Notable Book, and Aesop Awards. He works with many different illustrators, including his own brother, Daniel San Souci.
