Kristine Kathryn Rusch
Kristine Kathryn Rusch doesn't believe in writing only one book a year-or even one genre a year. The author of more than 55 books, she maintains series in science fiction, romance, and mystery genres writing under the additional names of Kristine Grayson, Kris Nelscott, and Sandy Schofield.
It may help that she has a writer for a husband, Dean Wesley Smith, and that they frequently collaborate.
However, it has been her writing which has garnered two Hugos (one for writing and one for editing), a John Campbell Award, a Herodotus Award, and a Homer Award. In one notable year, she won three different reader's choice awards for three different stories in two different genres. She's been nominated for Locus, Nebula, Sturgeon, Hugo, Edgar, Bram Stoker, and World Fantasy Awards.
Born in 1960, Rusch spent six years as the editor of The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. She and her husband ran Pulphouse Publishing in the 80s.
Since then, she has produced a steady flow of novels, novelizations, and short stories.
