Spider Robinson

Born in New York City, Spider Robinson is a science fiction writer, book reviewer, and folk singer. Critics have hailed him for combining humor, puns, and optimism in an ode to joy that is fun to read.

On his way to becoming a writer, Robinson held such odd jobs as morgue attendant, folksinger, shipping clerk, soda jerk, night watchman, and real estate writer.

He's married to fellow writer Jeanne Robinson and the two of them frequently collaborate on novels and worlds. The Robinsons now live in British Columbia where they continue to be active writers and members of the science fiction community.

His books have won three Hugos, a Nebula, a Campbell, a Skylark, and two Locus Awards. He was recently chosen by Heinlein Prize Trust to write Variable Star, a novel based on a Robert Heinlein outline.
