Mike Resnick

Born in 1942, Mike Resnick started his writing career early. His first article was published at age 15, his first short story at age 17, and his first novel at age 20. And he hasn't stopped writing since then. Much of his early work was written under pen names or anonymously. He wrote and sold more than 200 novels, 300 short stories, and 2,000 articles.

He eventually began writing under his own name, selling to multiple publishers to keep up with his prolific output. His Kirinyaga series has been nominated for 61 awards, winning many of them. It is considered the most honored series of stories in science fiction history. All together, his works have won four Hugos, a Nebula, 10 Homer Awards, an Alexander Award, a Golden Pagoda Award, a Locus Award, and several international and reader's poll awards.

Resnick characterizes himself as a fan. Despite his commercial success, he still contributes to science fiction fanzines. His daughter, Laura Resnick, is also a writer, publishing fantasy and romance novels.
