Vonda McIntyre

Vonda McIntyre, winner of numerous science fiction writing awards including a Nebula and a Hugo, racks up frequent flier miles while researching her novels. Her writing has taken her to such places as Crete, Cyprus, Alaska, and Idaho. She's given speeches in countries ranging from England, Finland, and New Zealand.

McIntyre earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington and began graduate work in genetics when she decided to write freelance full-time. Her books have been translated into 13 languages and are popular worldwide. In addition to writing novels, she has held several academic chairs and been a visiting novelist at Humboldt State College.
