Des McHale
Des McHale is a humorist and author whose writings have ridden the gamut from puzzles to humor to geology to quitting smoking. Born in County Mayo, Ireland, MacHale is a professor of Mathematics at University College in Cork.
His interests, according to his biography in the co-authored Challenging Lateral Thinking Puzzles, include puzzles, geology, writing, broadcasting, films, photography, numismatics, and mathematics. He and his wife have five children.
