Patricia Reilly Giff
Patricia Reilly Giff has built a career surrounded by her passion: books. The author of more than 60 books, mostly for children, Giff has taught reading, been an educational consultant for children's book publishers, and advised and instructed aspiring writers.
Born in 1935, Giff began writing books for middle-grade readers in 1979. In 1990, she and her son opened up a bookstore where she gives lectures and writing workshops for students and teachers. Her books have won Newbery Honors and Horn Book Honors.
She's written several series, including The Kids at the Polk Street School, Friends and Amigos, and Ronald Morgan.
