Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman entered the science fiction pool through pop culture waters. His first book featured Duran Duran as the topic and was published the same year he landed an interview with Robert Silverberg for Penthouse. His fame has continued as the creator of books, comics, short stories, television scripts, and as a man with famous friends such as Tori Amos.

Neil Gaiman photo from loc.govSome of his largest successes include the creation of Sandman, the graphic novel for DC Comics and the science fiction humor book, Good Omens, which was a collaboration with Terry Pratchett. In 1997, he wrote a children's book.

Gaiman was born in England and now lives in the United States. He's been nominated for a World Fantasy Award and won an International Horror Critics Guild Award.

His American Gods won Best Novel from the Hugos, Nebulas, and Bram Stoker Awards. It was nominated for both a World Fantasy and a British Science Fiction Association award.
