C.J. Cherryh

A writer and a traveler, C.J. Cherryh has been exploring the worlds of her imagination and creation since she began publishing hard science fiction and fantasy novels in 1976. She is a three-time Hugo winner and has also won a Campbell and a Locus Award.

Born Carolyn Janice Cherry in 1942, Cherryh studied the classics in the mid-60s, earning degrees in Latin and the Classics from the University of Oklahoma and John Hopkins University. Throughout her life she has traveled across the world and dabbled in numerous hobbies ranging from archaeology to ice skating to wilderness survival to archery to painting.
