Peter Ames Carlin
Peter Ames Carlin is a journalist first and an author second.
Born in Seattle, Washington, Carlin attended college at Macalester College in Minnesota before transferring back to the Northwest and graduating with a degree in English from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
It was there that he began his writing career, working for The Oregonian newspaper in that city. He continues to be a television critic for them and has also been a senior writer for People magazine in New York. As a freelancer, his work has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, the Los Angeles Times Magazine, and Men's Journal.
