Bill Buford
Bill Buford is a man who takes research seriously. For him, research is more than tapping a few keys at the keyboard or flipping a few pages at the local library. For him, research meant spending three years in a fast-paced three-star kitchen learning the ins and outs of culinary preparation.
Buford is also a man who has had a lifelong commitment to literature. He was the founding editor of the literary magazine, Granta, and the publisher of Granta Books. He is currently a staff writer for The New Yorker and spent eight years as their fiction editor.
His first book also involved extensive research in that case living among soccer thugs in England.
