Terry Bisson

Born in Kentucky in 1942, Bisson is a versatile writer who has penned novels, short stories, comic adaptations, movie novelizations, biographies, and how-to books. His flexibility has produced works earning him a Hugo, Nebulas, Theodore Sturgeon Award, and multiple World Fantasy nominations.

Bisson was also approached by Walter Miller's agent to complete the sequel to the science fiction classic, A Canticle for Leibowitz. After Miller committed suicide, Bisson completed the final 100 pages of the novel that Miller had spent 30 years working on.

Along the way to becoming a novelist, Bisson graduated from the University of Louisville in 1964 and moved through New York and Colorado working as a writer, editor, copywriter, and auto mechanic. His stay in Colorado was as part of the Red Rockers hippie commune in the Rocky Mountains.

Bisson now teaches writing in New York and works as an editor/consultant for HarperPrism, the science fiction line of Harper Collins. He's also adapted such classic novels as Emma, Pride and Prejudice, and William Shakespeare's Henry V for Acclaim's Classics Illustrated comic series.
